A new method for determination of electronic temperature of nitrogen non-thermal plasma using emission spectroscopy has been developed. This method has been used for nitrogen non-thermal plasma that was produced in high densities glow discharge corona. By assuming energy distribution function of the electron as maxwellian distribution and using the effective cross sections data of the second positive system, 2s+, (C3Πu→B3Πg) of N2 and the first negative system, 1s– (B2Σ+u→X2Σ+g) of N2+, the relationship between mean energy of the electron with ratio of 1s–(0-0) intensity and 2s+(2-5) intensity can be determined theoretically. The emission spectra of the nitrogen molecule excited, (C3Πu→B3Πg) of N2 and molecule ionized, 1s– (B2Σ+u→X2Σ+g) of N2+, experimentally was obtained from emission spectroscopy. By identification and analysis these spectra, the ratio of 1s–(0-0) intensity and 2s+(2-5) intensity was obtained experimentally. This method has been applied for determination of mean energy of the electron or electronic temperature of non-thermal plasma nitrogen in glow discharge corona with densities of 2.4 x 1020 cm-3 to 9.2 x 1020 cm-3.
